So who are we then? Well, we are a newly engaged couple with a larger interest in cats than your average person. Our names are Anne and Christopher and we live in a quiet neighbourhood in Uppsala, Sweden (40 minutes trip from Stockholm). Anne is 26 years of age and is currently looking for a job, preferarby in the hotel or management business. Christopher is 24 years of age and is one of Uppsalas' numerous students as he is currently studying the program of Computer Science at Uppsala University. We share, among other things, a common interest in books and different kind of games. We like hanging out with friends, both individually and as a couple, and we enjoy watching a movie or play with the cats together. The biggest difference between us is our preference in outdorrs temperature... Anne would love it to be winter all year around while Christopher is the biggest sun freak we know of. :)
The interest in animals has always been a great part of our lives and as kids we both had pets. The choice of getting a cat as our pet was never really a question since we both have a passion for cats. The reason we decided to get a Cornish Rex was that is was one of the few breeds of cats we could choose from since Anne is allergic to most furry animals. Of course, getting a Cornish Rex doesn't guarantee not getting an allergic reaction, everything depends on your genetic structure. We were lucky and Annes feline allergy is now far gone. We hit the jackpot!
We have a bit of routine now and are between litters four and five. We don't put focus on the quantity of litters but concentrate on creating a safe environment for the litters we choose to have. It is important to us that the kittens grow up to be secure and social individuals and we try to create that by letting them be with us 24 hours a day in an allowing environment. Even if we have only few limitations we have clear boundries, something we believe have as big an effect on kittens as on children when trying to create security. Of course they sleep in our bed when they decide to do so and we usually have company every night. Since they grow accustom to human contact and cuddling from the very day they are born until the day they are big enough to move, they are intrepid when they arrive to their new homes, something that usually makes it easier if there are already other cats in the house. All our four females are queens in our cattery even if Lethe has yet to mature for some time before having kittens of her own. We hope to have many beautiful and healthy kittens ahead of us, after all, this is only the beginning...
